A professor of American history and dean for North America at the University of Edinburgh, fellow of the Royal Historical Society, and cohost of “The Whiskey Rebellion” podcast, Francis D. Cogliano is also the author of several books, including Thomas Jefferson: Reputation & Legacy and Revolutionary America, 1763-1815: A Political History. His latest work is A Revolutionary Friendship: Washington, Jefferson, and the American Republic, which Publishers Weekly calls a “measured and clarifying account…This deeply researched and accessible narrative sheds new light on a consequential friendship.”
