Join us for a discussion of a new biography of Charles Lindbergh, "A Convenient Villain: Charles A. Lindbergh's remarkable and controversial legacy preparing the U.S. for war" with author Jonathan D. Reich, MD, M Sc, Faculty, Johns Hopkins School of Medicine.

Charles Lindbergh is one of the most influential and controversial American public figures of the 20th Century.  He may be the only American who was a public hero, victim, and villain within the span of 15 years. Jonathan Reich is a former aerospace engineer who became intrigued with Lindbergh's actions between 1935-1955.  Because only historians have written about Lindbergh, there is traditionally a fundamental lack of appreciation, bordering on dishonesty, regarding the contributions he made to America's national security. Combining his aerospace engineering background and years of research, including combing through archives, Dr. Reich documented these contributions and presented them to the reader.

He also reviewed every speech, radio address, and the congressional testimony that Lindbergh gave between 1939 and 1941 and how it was reported. This is crucial to understand his position and how it led to a conflict with American Jews. The lessons learned regarding anti-Semitism have never been more important.
